• forwarding complete, clear and concise information to each school including grade reports, testing and teacher recommendations. This is accompanied by an explanation of specific reasons for referring the student to the school

• apprising the family of deadlines and responsibilities and being available for ongoing discussion of the process and the schools.

• communicating appropriately with the schools on the student’s behalf.

• assisting in the final decision-making process and/or continuing to work on behalf of the student if waitlist status is given. Service in this capacity will continue throughout the summer if necessary.

Student and family responsibilities include the following:

• scheduling and being on time for appointments and visits to the schools
• completing and mailing applications by the deadlines
• remaining in close communication so that I can monitor the status of the process
• communicating impressions, experiences and knowledge gained from each school visit
• following advice regarding appropriate communication with the schools
