- Referral Service -
A Referral Service is a continuation of the Advisory. It is the process of thoroughly guiding the student or family through the admission process for independent schools which were recommended in the Advisory period. At any given time, only a limited number of students can be supported due to the time required to represent each one carefully and to be responsive to the requests of the family and schools. Therefore, it is not possible for all Advisory clients to become Referral clients.

The Referral Service begins following the completion of the Advisory Service and includes:

further discussion of the details of the process and subsequent course of action.

planning for interviews, visiting days, playdays, testing. Recommendations and essays are discussed.

coordination of appropriate teacher recommendations. A form is given to each teacher recommending the student. This form is completed as thoroughly as possible and returned directly to me. It is therefore not necessary for forms from each school to be filled out separately. This simplifies the recommendation process significantly for teachers who are often asked to complete multiple forms for several students. The teacher appreciates the request to write one thoughtful recommendation. (This procedure may be altered depending on the variety of schools being considered.) All recommendations remain confidential and are shared only with schools to which the student has applied. I am not at liberty to discuss contents of teacher recommendations with the student or parents.
